OUR HISTORY: Koppe Bridge Bar & Grill opened in 1992 at its original location on Wellborn Road. The building
was originally a one-room feed store which was renovated and expanded into the current restaurant site in south College Station.
The origin of the restaurant's name has been handed down over the years. Koppe Bridge was an actual bridge that spanned
the Brazos River through the mid-1920's until it was eventually taken out by floodwaters. It was the only crossing over the
Brazos River into the area at that time. After the bridge fell the final time, a local rancher acquired some of the piers
and timbers from the bridge that eventually became part of the old feed store's flooring. The restaurant was named Koppe
Bridge as a way to keep the legacy of the bridge alive because it IS the "foundation" of the business. Over the
years, with dedication and hard work, the business grew with the great support of locals, Aggies, and former students. This
allowed for the newest Koppe Bridge location on Harvey Road which opened in August 2002. Until the mid-1980's, the Harvey
Road location was the former site of Jose's Mexican Food Restaurant (and The Anchor Club many years before that). The old
Jose's burned and the site was left vacant for many years. Koppe Bridge, now with two locations and over 45 employees, has
employed a vast group of great people over the years. Many have moved on to successful careers and some of the best are still
with our team today. We've also had many notables walk through our doors to enjoy the "Best Big Burger in Town"
...including Former President Bush, 41 and A&M's President, Dr. Robert Gates as well as Texas Governor Rick Perry and
Senator Steve Ogden. Besides the quality of our made to order food, customer service is one of the most important business
aspects to our owners, management, and employees. We continue to be committed to maintaining the success of Koppe Bridge
and our contribution to the local economy and community. Visit the links above to see what others are saying about Koppe
Bridge Bar & Grill... or better yet, stop by either location for "The Best Big Burger in Town". Thank you
Bryan-College Station and Gig'Em Aggies! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
